Valhalla Rescue also runs the VCR ANIMAL FOOD BANK providing food, toys, blankets, vet care, micro-chipping, vaccines and emergency expenses to those in the homeless community that live with animals.
Every month Valhalla Rescue searches out homeless camps and contacts other homeless organizations to locate and assist those living on the streets with companion animals to provide items necessary to maintain the human/pet bond.
Valhalla Rescue also provides temporary shelter for companion animals of the homeless while their humans are seeking help for chemical dependency or medical attention themselves.
Valhalla Rescue receives no financial support from any national or local humane associations and supports this program solely from donations from the community and local businesses for donation of food, toys, blankets and other supplies.
In 2013 VCRAFB provided assistance 175 times to those in need in King, Pierce, Thurston and Lewis County. In 2014 we hope to be able to expand our program to include more counties and to also supply local human food banks with dog food for their clients too.
Valhalla Rescue is a federally recognized charity and All donations are tax deductible.
